9-11 November 2009
The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes its critical role in supporting urgent national efforts to enable universal access to treatment and care, so as to meet the Millennium Development Goal 6 target of reversing TB incidence, and the Stop TB 2015 targets of halving TB prevalence and mortality rates. The WHO Secretariat requires ongoing scientific, technical and strategic advice in TB care and control from its Strategic and Technical Advisory Group for Tuberculosis (STAG-TB), to help guide implementation of the Stop TB Strategy and the Stop TB Partnership's Global Plan to
Stop TB, 2006-2015.
The ninth meeting of STAG-TB took place at WHO Headquarters from 9-11 November 2009. The meeting was organized by the WHO Stop TB Department (HTM/STB).
